What has become of the Internets

March 8th, 2007 · No Comments

I was talking to a friend while I was at work, we usually discuss stuff we’ve read in books, or the current state of things (no justice between nations, love of one’s own, etc.) and this time we were on the topic of the internets

* the internet has played out to allow “like” minded people from everywhere with an anonymous medium to communicate
* along with that it’s given people the ability to profit off of the sickest things people can think of that they “think” they would like to see
* instead of small circles of individuals who hide amongst themselves to hide their perversion and share it internally – they can now congregate and promote their agenda using whatever means allows them to go about (biggest one – freedom of speech)
* and again – entrepreneurial minded people are there to rake in the monies on all of it

Haha Internet

Which reminds of this this very picture. The internet has become a breeding ground for both the most amazing things (business, correspondence for R&D, communication), and the utter trash of society.

I guess Spider-man was right, with great power comes great responsibility. Then again, who is responsible for the internet?
